Red Rain Sugar Free
This "impostor" drink is sold alongside its "inspiration" at about the same price; but the habitual customers of the drink are as mysterious and unknown as the origins of the drink itself. In a lot of ways, this Canadian energy drink is emblematic of the energy drink situation in Canada.
I haven't had Red Rain for a long time, this is going to be a review that focuses a a more broad topic.
The "Energy Drink Market" in Canada is similar to that in the United States, just several years behind in fashion and crippled due to limitations on how much good stuff can be put into a single serving container. While there are a lot of energy drinks that are approved for sale in Canada, the market is not nearly as vibrant as it is in the USA or parts of Europe.
As far as I can tell there is no Red Rain website, the closest thing I can find are two Facebook pages (one for Mexico and one for Kosovo) connected to the brand. The most bizarre thing about the lack of web presence is that the brand hired a public marketing firm to try to target the youth demographic, but I just don't know about how successful it has been.
Red Rain is basically a knockoff of Red Bull. The taste is similar, the ingredients are similar, the package is the same size, and they even lifted "Red" from the product. The difference is that Red Rain has a tribal-style tattoo label and goes on sale more often since it is purchased far less and has to go on clearance sale pricing when approaching the "best before" date on the can.
- Location Purchased: information lost to time
- Price when Purchased: information lost to time (usually $2.89 Leafbacks)
Taste: Red Bull medicine-like clone.
Energy: 80mg Caffeine.
Bottom Line: It is basically Red Bull with no marketing or reason to be priced at the same level as the premium brand.

3/5 - yeah man, I don't know
